Michael Selyem graduated from UCLA Law School in 2004 and is admitted to practice in the state courts of New York and California. While in school, Michael completed an internship with the Honorable Gary Taylor, U.S. District Judge for the Central District of California. Prior to law school, Michael was a Deputy Sheriff with the Orange County Sheriff’s Department and has extensive knowledge regarding police policy and procedure.
In 2005, Michael clerked for the Los Angeles District Attorney’s office and then spent 13 years with the San Bernardino District Attorney’s office where he prosecuted thousands of criminal cases. After completing more than 75 jury trials, he was promoted to Lead Attorney of the Hardcore Gang & Career Criminal Unit where he directed one of the nation’s busiest gang units. Michael has successfully tried more than a dozen homicide cases to juries and countless other “life exposure” cases. As a criminal defense attorney, Michael brings more than 23 years of combined criminal law and law enforcement experience to help his clients obtain the best possible resolution of their case.
